From the most successful icons of Tamil cinema – Suriya, Lingusamy and Yuvan Shankar Raja, here comes an enthralling album that serves the music lovers with an infinite treat. The album of Anjaan comprises of five tracks based on different musical genres and 2daycinema brings you an exclusive look with a vivid analysis. The film is directed by Lingusamy and is produced by Thirrupathi Brothers with Suriya and Samantha playing the lead roles.

Bang Bang Bang

Singer: Ranjith

Lyrics: Madhan Karky

It’s a title track for the protagonist Raju Bhai and you’ve Vidyut Jamwal throughout the song ruling the screens alongside Suriya. The electrifying notes on distorted guitars and magnetising rhythm become the most intriguing part of this song. The punch of valour is so much evident with the lyrical lines of Madhan Karky and this is sure to become a grand bang number for Suriya fans.

Oru Kan Jaadai

Singers: Benny Dayal

Lyrics: Viveka

A cool number that might take some time to charm us out as the tune is middling. The singers exert their best effort on making the sound appeal at its best. Yes, it’s a decent attempt, but would gain more prominence with Santhosh Sivan’s top-notch cinematography in the backdrops of Goa.

Ek Do Theen Chaar

Singers: Suriya, Andrea Jeremiah

Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar

It’s a signature hit from Suriya for his fans. The actor has crooned the song with the right style and Yuvan Shankar Raja has synchronised his voice with good tuning. Thanks to sound engineers for enhancing his vocalism. Andrea Jeremiah on her part takes a cakewalk with her role. The song is sure to be a rocking treat in cinema halls.

Kadhal Aasai

Singers: Yuvan Shankar Raja, Sooraj Santhosh

Lyrics: Kabilan

The cherry-pick of this album comes late in time, but marks our words! It’s a soulful song with lots of elegance that touch you out emotionally. The poignant lines by Kabilan and Yuvan Shankar Raja are scintillating efforts to add the touch of ‘Qawali’ raga is a sensible one. The song becomes an amalgamation of love and spirituality, which is a rarity and this earlier happened with few songs churned out by AR Rahman.

Siriuppu En

Singer: MM. Manasi

Lyrics: Viveka

Finally, the album winds up with an item number that has some sassy lines penned by Viveka. Nothing much in particular to throws lights upon this track, but the usage of instrumentals deserve special emotion. With the hottest and happening Chitrangada Singh shaking legs for this song, we can expect a festive blast on the screens.

Marking the final line of verdict for Anjaan, it’s couple of songs ‘Kadhal Aasai’ and ‘Ek Do Theen Chaar’ that easily get into our attraction zone. While rest of the songs are passable, they might brew up well as the time advances with accordance to the picturing style.

Verdict : A commendable effort by Yuvan Shankar Raja

Stars : 2.5/5
