National award-winning actor Dhanush has opposed the idea of undergoing DNA test in a case filed by a couple who claimed that he was their son.
Melur’s Kathiresan and Meenatchi, the couple in question, filed a case a few months back with the District Sessions Court in Melur stating that Dhanush was their son who went ‘missing’ when he was in Class XI. They also provided to the Court copies of academic certificates which indicated birthmarks of the actor found at the time of his birth.
Dhanush underwent check-up at the Madurai Bench of the Chennai high Court where it was found that the so-called birthmarks were missing as the spot where the marks were supposed to be present had undergone ‘laser treatment’. Dhanush filed his latest petition with the Madurai Court requesting the Court to dispose the couple’s petition as they have been making false claims that he was their son.
When the case was taken up yesterday, counsel for the couple said that the couple was ready to undergo DNA test to prove their claim and that this had already been cited in their petition filed with the Court. Dhanush’s counsel strongly objected to this and said that as the claim was fake, there was no need to order a DNA test to be conducted as it would infringe upon the individual right of Dhanush, the citizen.
