Jigarthanda Goes To Bollywood

Siddharth and Bobby Simha's Jigarthanda, was a 2014 release. The film received positive critics and was loved due to its raw and gritty screenplay. Then debutant director Karthik Subbraj, was praised a lot for the story and direction.

As soon as it was declared a blockbuster, producer's from other languages approached the makers of Jigarthanda and tried to acquire the remake rights of the film. It was remade in Kannadan and now after almost three years, it is speculated that the movie is being remade in Hindi.

Actor producer Ajay Devgn has apparently bagged the remake rights of Jigarthanda and Farhan Akhtar is said to replace Siddharth, while Bobby Simhaa's role will be played by the ace actor Sanjay Dutt.

As per DC, “Actor Sanjay Dutt has always been the front runner for the Asault Sethu role enacted by Bobby Simhaa. Even Sanjay Dutt was impressed with the character arc of Sethu and decided to get on board. Shooting of this flick is expected to go on floors in January 2018.”

Farhan Akhtar also confirmed to Mumbai Mirror saying, "I met Nishikant and he took me through the journey of the film. It’s a big action-comedy-drama, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s something new for me. I liked his last film, Drishyam, very much and I’ve known Sanju for a really long time. Interestingly, we have similar tastes in music, but we’ve never discussed working together."
