Malayalam Actress Abduction Case - Victim Writes A Letter To Kerala CM

Disturbed by the unsavoury remarks made by a Kerala MLA in the Malayalam actress abduction case, the survivor has now written an open letter to the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. In the letter, which has been posted in  Women in Cinema Collective's Facebook page, the actress has appealed to the chief minister to take action against Poonjar MLA PC George.

Kerala MLA PC George called for a whole new controversy when he made derogatory remarks against the Malayalam actress, who was allegedly abducted and assaulted. The MLA, at a recent press meet, went as far as saying that the woman is lying about the seriousness of the attack plus questioning how was she present for work the very next day after the assault.

Responding to such heinous allegations made about her publicly, the actress penned an emotional letter to Kerala Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan. But this further infuriated George, who remained unmoved from his stance and said that the letter is proof the actress is guilty while asserting that Dileep, the main accused, is being framed.

The hard-hitting lines from the letter are now going viral on the internet. It read, “I cannot explain the mental state I have been in for the last many months after the assault. I feel pressured by insults each moment. A common family like mine, which includes my mother and brother, could not tolerate what happened to me. But I survive out of the thought that I should not break down and should fight it out till the end,” she wrote. “I held on strongly to my self-confidence and courage from the next day of the assault, only because I should not fail in this agitation. If I fail, I know it will be the failure of many women like me. What do people like PC George think? Should I have committed suicide? Or should I have been dumped in a mental asylum? Or should I hide somewhere by not appearing in public?”

Meanwhile, after George's remarks sparked reactions, Kerala Women's Commission on Monday suo moto registered a case against the MLA.  The case was registered based on legal opinion that his statements amount to defaming the actress and hurting woman hood.
