Gemini Ganesanum Suruli Rajanum - The Journey Of A Playboy's Love Stories

REVIEW

Actor Atharvaa has been mostly seen in action oriented roles and for the first time he has acted in a Rom-com titled as 'Gemini Ganesanum Suruli Rajanum' directed by debutant Odam Ilavarasu. Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum stars Atharvaa, Soori, Motta Rajendran and a host of female leads including Regina Cassandra, Pranitha Subash, Aishwarya Rajesh and Aaditi Pohankar. The director Odam Ilavarasu has tried to do a spoof of the film autograph, is what watching the movie feels like.

STORY

Gemini Ganesan (Atharvaa) comes to Madurai to invite his past lovers Lavanya (Regina Cassandra) and Divya (Aaditi Pohankar) for his marriage. He meets Suruli Rajan (Soori) who helps him to find out the two girls. During their search, they accidentally meet Priya (Pranathi) who is also Gemini's ex-lover. There is another girl Pooja (Aishwarya Rajesh) who has fallen for Gemini's kind heart (!) and is waiting for his acceptance.

The story is all about Gemini's love and breakup with these girls and who he eventually marries forms the rest.

PERFORMANCE

Atharvaa has given a very lively performance with cute expressions and a different dialogue delivery in funny scenes. His performance lifts many unimaginative scenes in the film. Out of the four heroines Regina and Pranitha are extremely good looking and seductive. Aaditi Pohankar fits the requirements of her role while Aishwaraya Rajesh gets to portray a somewhat dignified role but still a powerhouse performer like her can be utilized better.

T.Siva as Atharvaa's father has done a neat job while Mayilsami lights up the screens with laughter with the limited scope he gets. That reference to Sasikumar and Samuthirakani is simply hilarious. Though there are many fake love affairs and cheatings of innocent girls throughout the film, no one could complain or get offended as the director handles everything in a light manner. He makes it clear too. So one can sit relaxed and enjoy the movie, which has beautiful girls, slick making and comedy.

However, the way the girls fall for our hero is not convincing. Their characterizations are very weak. These aspects cannot be brushed aside in the name of comedy. That almost all the love affairs look similar doesn’t auger well for the movie. There could be some better imagination in presenting the love stories and the female characters.

The slick look, glamour quotient, and the hilarious last half an hour make the movie enjoyable. The dialogues add to the comical impact.

Music by D.Imman is impressive but his tunes reflect many old songs. Sree Saravanan's cinematography gives the best to add the much needed colorfulness for the film.
