Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai - A very usual love story!

REVIEW

Meendum Oru Kadhal Kathai’ is the remake of the super hit Malayalam film ‘Thattathin Marayathu’ which deals with the trials and tribulations of lovers belonging to Hindu and Muslim communities. The film's story is written by Vineeth Sreenivasan and is directed by Mithran Jawahar of ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’ fame.

‘Meendum Oru Kadhal Kathai’ has Walter Phillips and Isha Talwar as the lead pair with Arjunan ,Manoj K. Jayan, , Thalaivasal Vijay, Shan, Vanitha Krishnachandran, Vidyullekha Raman, Arunth Sriganthan, Venkatesh Harinathan, Singamuthu and Sangili Murugan who is also the producer. The music score is by G. V. Prakash Kumar.

STORY

The film is the story of Vinod (Gowtham) an average student from a modest Hindu household falls in love with a beautiful girl named Aisha (Isha Talwar), hailing from a wealthy and influential Muslim family.

Vinod and his friends try every possible way to grab her attention and to their surprise, she reciprocates the feeling, pretty easily. Rest of the story follows through how he met her, how he lost his heart then and there, and how he knocked her down.

PERFORMANCE

Debut actors Walter Philips and Isha Talwar has done a comendable job. Whereas, the characterization of supporting roles played by Nasseer, Thalaivasal Vijay and Manoj.K.Jayan lacked detail. Vishnu Sharma needs a pat on his back for cinemetography. His visuals carry a pleasant feel throughout the film. GV Prakash’s music has helped the scenes well enough, although the frequent outbursts of songs could have been reduced. The editing is clear and neat. The art director Viji is promising.

The direction was sleek. Though the second half become a little draggy compared to the first half the screenplay was done neatly. The romantic scenes are kind of very usuals which we have seen in so  many movies. Some distinctive ideas could have made the movie even more special.
