Wagah - Good Plot Spoiled by Poor Screenplay!

REVIEW

Wagah is an action romantic Tamil movie which is featuring Vikram Prabhu playing the main lead role and the movie had been released today. G.N.R Kumaravelan is the director of the movie and the flick is bankrolled by M.Balvishwanaathan.

The music for the movie had been composed by D.Imman. Varamuthu Mohan raj and Arun raj Kamaraj had provided the lyrics of the songs. The cinematography is handled by S.R Sathish Kumar. Raja Mohammed is the editor of the flick.

The movie features Ranya Rao playing the female lead role besides Vikram Prabhu. Tulasi, Karunas, and Ajay Rathnam will be seen playing supportive roles. The movie is produced under the production banner Vijay Bhargavi Films.

STORY

Vasu (Vikram Prabhu) is a happy-go-lucky youngster whose biggest enjoyment in life is boozing and his cousin (Sathyan) encourages him to join the army as you get liquor at discount rates!!! And one fine morning Vasu, after two scenes, land up in Kashmir as a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan posted in Wagah border.

As a BSF soldier Vasu is being held captive by the Pakistani soldiers in an illegal concentration camp of sorts, headed by Razzak Ali Khan.  Vasu was caught by these men while 'dropping off' his Pakistani girlfriend Kanoam safely at her home in Pakistan, by crossing the border without proper permission.

Kanoam was on a visit to India to meet her grandfather, where Vasu fell in love with her at first sight. but her visit was cut short by violence in the Kashmiri valley over Pakistani forces murdering Indian soldiers. So, Vasu has to escape from his 'prison', rescue his girl and save the lives of the other Indian jawans still trapped in the hellhole.

Did he complete his mission? You will have to watch it in big screen.

PERFORMANCE

Vikram Prabhu has done a good job. Ranya looks pretty but when it comes to performance and lip sync she fails miserably. Tulasi, Sathyan and Rrajendran also saw in the film as a supporting cast of the film, and they done their job perfectly.

All Pakistani villains are mere cartoons who remind terrorists in Captain Vijayakant’s movies are far better. Songs by D Imman are strictly average and they pop up at regular intervals that slacken the film’s deadening pace. Editing is not that good like expected by the critics. Cinematography is also not that good.Technically too the film fails. Script is a complete mess. That’s because the director isn't sure whether to treat his story as some epic romance or as a commercial 'patriotic' film.
